NFL players suffer injuries that could take a toll on playoffs

During this NFL football season, over 20 teams have experienced the misfortune of  injured players, who can do nothing more than sit on the sidelines.

It’s not looking good for these teams.  Without key players, the teams are at-risk of not making it to the playoffs.  This wouldn’t only upset their team, but their fans as well.

The most notable injuries are from New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr, Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watts, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier.

The injuries could be season-ending for these men which means they’ll take awhile to recover. Beckham went down with a nasty ankle injury. While Beckham is driven away on a cart, he cried with pain and most likely frustration, knowing he will be in recovery for awhile.

Some players from the opposing team, the Los Angeles Chargers approached Beckham giving their respect and support.

Watts has a broken Tibial bone in his left leg, which forces him to be out for the rest of the season, leaving Watts in tears.

Ryan Shazier has unfortunately injured his back during an attempt to tackle. The tackle caused his head to be pushed back too far, which made a back injury. The injury was so severe that Shazier lost all feeling in his legs and was unable to move. He was rushed into the hospital. He had surgery and now was able to feel his legs.

As expected, Shazier will not be able to continue for the rest of the season. The team and his fans were quick to send their prayers to him.

The Steelers also acknowledged Shazier by wearing cleats and jerseys with the word “Shalieve”  right before the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

While most of the injuries have caused these players to be out for the season, , Rodgers’ broken collarbone ended with a quick recovery. In fact, it didn’t take long before he started practicing. He even stated “The comeback starts now”.

Speaking of recoveries, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown will be coming back on time for the Steelers play-off game. With his recovery the Steelers may have a chance to to win the SuperBowl.
